How we verify the camps we list

“Verified” is a word every directory uses and few explain. Here is exactly what it means on Train & Travel, including the parts that are still limited.

A camp can take control of its own page

Every listing can be claimed by the camp it describes. Claiming hands over the prices, the photos, the schedule and the contact details, and requests then arrive with the camp rather than with us. There is no password to invent and nothing to pay. 14 of the 26 camps listed today manage their own page. The rest are listed from public information and can be claimed at any time by the people who run them.

Prices are shown in the currency the camp charges

Nothing is converted. Almost every camp prices in baht, and the one that sells a dollar package shows dollars, marked as dollars. Converting would mean shipping an exchange rate that goes stale without anyone noticing, and being wrong about money is the one thing a site like this cannot afford. Where a camp only sells by the week or the month, we divide that down to a comparable daily figure and say so, so two camps can be compared without either being misrepresented.

Locations are checked against the region they claim

Every listing's coordinates are checked to be inside Thailand and inside the province the camp says it is in, and its address is checked to be something a map can actually find. A camp whose exact location we cannot confirm is listed without a pin rather than with a guessed one — a map that invents a location is worse than a map with one fewer marker, because there is no way for a reader to tell the difference.

A camp that cannot answer does not get a request button

A stay request is only useful if it reaches someone. Where a listing has no email, no WhatsApp and nobody managing it, the request form is replaced by a direct link to the camp instead of quietly collecting messages that would sit unread until they expired. That has happened, which is why the rule exists.

What we do not do

  • We do not rank camps by payment. Nobody can buy a position in the listings.
  • We do not take a commission, and no money passes through this site.
  • We do not write reviews, and we do not publish any we did not receive.
  • We do not convert prices between currencies.
  • We do not generate listings automatically from scraped pages.

Where this is still limited

Train & Travel is young and small. We have not trained at every camp on this site, and we do not pretend the listings are a substitute for asking a camp your own questions — which is why every page sends you to the camp directly rather than through us. Prices and schedules change; where a camp manages its own page they change here too, and where it does not, they may lag. If you find something out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
